March 8

Jesus’ Priorities (Family Life Center and Online)

The Gospel According to Luke concludes with a detailed account of Jesus’s final instructions to his apostles. Luke’s sequel, Acts, refers to the gospel account as describing “all that Jesus began to do and to teach.” This class will explore a dozen priorities presented in Luke and how they are picked up in the life of the early church. This likewise informs the priorities for Christian life today. Teacher: Loren Wisehart

March 15 through May 31 (12 Weeks)

Defending the Faith and Living Anointed Lives (Family Life Center and Online)

This quarter we will tackle two separate subjects. First, we will examine I Peter 3:13-16, contextualizing the admonition within the framework of the rest of the book. We will discuss ways we might apply the text in our own situations. Finally we will briefly look at several categories of apologetics (defense of the faith) presented within the  story of Scripture itself.

Next, we will consider the anointed offices of prophet, priest, and king in the Old Testament, how Jesus ultimately fulfills those roles, and the continuing prophetic, priestly, and kingly role for the body of Christ today. Teacher: Gregg Rigney

2.   Romans, Part 3 (Women Only; Library and Online; Facilitator: Melinda Goad)

It has been said, “If you get Romans, God will get you!” Join us this winter as we continue an in-depth look at the book of Romans in order to grow in our understanding of the profound truths Paul relays in this text. Each week class participants will study the assigned reading independently and join together on Wednesday evenings to discuss their insights. To allow for a more in-depth look at the text, we will only cover 1/2 chapter per week. You can attend the class in person at the building or from home on Zoom. If you have questions, please contact Melinda Goad. Zoom link:
